Thanks to the kindness of the author, David Atty, the Amateur Entomologists' Society has acquired a number of copies of "The Coleoptera of Gloucestershire", which was published in 1983 as a limited edition print run of 550 copies.
The book runs to 136 pages and is packed with information. It describes the regional characteristics of habitats in Gloucestershire and collates records of the county's beetles, including those from sources dating back to the early 19th century.
The book is priced to sell at just £5 per copy, post free in the UK, and purchasers can also download an update dating from 1986.
This is a unique and valuable volume of records which will be useful to any entomologist with an interest in regional records of Coleoptera.
You are unlikely to find this book on sale elsewhere and have the satisfaction of knowing that the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to support the work of the AES.
